South Dakota's 89th Legislative Session begins tomorrow, January 14th, with Governor Dennis Daugaard's State of the State Address. According to the Argus Leader, Daugaard will announce his plans to build the state's workforce, which include efforts to better meet the needs of the state's technical schools. The State of the State address will be broadcast live on South Dakota Public Broadcasting radio, television, and at SDPB.org at 1 p.m. CST.
The McKusick Law Library's display on the 2014 Legislative Session contains information from the Legislative Research Council's LRC) website on tracking bills, viewing the Session's calendar, a list of the Legislature's leaders, "How An Idea Becomes Law," and a copy of the LRC's Legislative Drafting Manual. South Dakota print resources from the Law Library's collection on the display include the 2013 South Dakota Session Laws and the 2013 House and Senate Journals. Other books on the display are:
